Nasal allergy is also known as allergic rhinitis. Nasal allergy symptoms include sneezing, itchiness of the nose, runny nose, nasal congestion, itchy eyes, and red eyes. A nasal allergy occurs due to response to allergens such as plant pollen, dust mites and animal dander. Besides that, nasal allergy symptoms can occur due to weather changes. These allergens lead to an allergic reaction where the immune system releases histamine and other chemicals leading to nasal allergy symptoms. Some of the risk factors that can cause nasal allergy symptoms are a family history of asthma or atopic eczema, air pollution, cold temperatures, and cigarette smoke. Nasal allergy symptoms often get resolved on its own when no longer exposed to allergens. However, sometimes the symptoms can last longer and it can happen quite often leading to chronic nasal allergy. Nasal allergy symptoms can be treated with antihistamine, nasal decongestants and avoidance of allergens.
