Yellow fever is a condition caused by a flavivirus. It is a hemorrhagic fever of the tropics. The disease is transmitted to humans through an infected mosquito bite or by infected monkeys. It usually presented as mild fever accompanied by headache, myalgia, conjunctivitis, and bradycardia. In some severe cases, it will be followed by jaundice, lower back pain, abdominal pain, and gastrointestinal bleeding due to liver damage and DIC. The sequelae to that will be a shock, hepatic failure, renal failure, seizure, and coma. Detection of this disease can be confirmed by culture RT-PCR in the first 3-4 days of illness. For the treatment of this disease is mainly supportive treatment followed by close on monitoring fluid and electrolytes, urine output, blood pressure.
