Spermicide is a type of chemical that has contents that can kill sperms. Spermicide is applied in the vagina before sexual intercourse. It acts by blocking the sperms from enter the cervix and prevent the mobility of sperms. Spermicide is used by itself or it can also be used with other additional contraceptive methods such as condom, diaphragms and cervical caps. Spermicide comes in various forms such as gel, cream, foams, and film. Spermicide has low pearl index and it is only effective if it's used in the right way. However, spermicides do not protect one from Sexually Transmitted Disease.
