Glycopyrrolate is commonly used to treat drooling or excessive salivation, arrhythmia such as bradycardia and it is also used as anesthesia.

How Glycopyrrolate Works

Glycopyrrolate is an antimuscarinic. It prevents the stimulation of acetylcholine receptors by inhibiting the action of acetylcholine at parasympathetic sites in smooth muscle, secretory glands, and the central nervous system which indirectly reduces the rate of salivation.

Side Effects of Glycopyrrolate

Flushing, Headache, Vomiting, Dry mouth, Constipation, Nasal congestion, Agitation and aggressive, Pallor, Palpitation, Dry skin

Pregnancy Not Safe

Glycopyrrolate may be unsafe to use during pregnancy as there are limited human studies that have shown adverse effects on fetus.
