Magnesium Trisilicate starts working as fast as 15 minutes after its taken. Its effect is seen to last all day and even until night.

Diarrhea is one of the common side effect of Magnesium Trisilicate. It usually does not required medical attention and stop by it own after stop taking salt. Make sure you stay hydrated by taking plenty of fluid. However if the symptom is too severe and unbearable, please consult with your doctor. He or she might change your medication to an alternative option that is better tolerated by you. Do not stop taking your medication without talking with your doctor first.

Magnesium Trisilicate is used to neutralise acid in our stomach. Acid will be released by stomach cell after being stimulated by food that we take. Thus, it is recommended to take Magnesium Trisilicate together with food or after having meal as you are more likely to get indigestion or heartburn during that time. Futhermore, the effect of Magnesium Trisilicate may also last longer if taken with food.

Magnesium Trisilicate sometimes can affect the way other medicines work. If possible, allow an interval of more than 2 hours between taking Magnesium Trisilicate and other medications. Alcohol does not interfere with the way Magnesium Trisilicate works. However, drinking alcohol makes your stomach produce more acid than normal. This can irritate your stomach lining and make your symptoms worse. If you suffer from condition that arise due to excessive acid production such as heart burn or indigestion, it is strongly advisable to reduce or stop taking alcohol.
