How Menthol Works

Menthol which exists in the form of inhalation, ointment or pastilles is commonly used for the symptomatic relief of sinusitis, bronchitis and similar condition. Its formula is usually in combination with benzoin, eucalyptus oil or camphor.

Side Effects of Menthol

Hypersensitivity reactions, Ingestion of large amount of menthol may cause GI effects such as severe abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, vertigo, ataxia, drowsiness and coma.
