Terbutaline is commonly used in the treatment of asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (copd).
Terbutaline is a beta-adrenergic receptor blocker and stimulates the enzyme that produces cyclic-3', 5'-adenosine monophosphate, resulting in relaxation of bronchial smooth muscle. Terbutaline also inhibits the release of mediators of hypersensitivity from mast cells

It is unsafe to consume alcohol with Terbutaline. You may experience headache, dizziness, lightheadedness, fainting, and/or changes in pulse or heart rate.
Terbutaline may be unsafe to use during pregnancy. Although there is no teratogenic effects observed till date, it should be used with caution during the first trimester of pregnancy. During the third trimester, terbutaline use has to be restricted as it has potential tocolytic effect that may cause further problem.
It is secreted into breast milk but it merely exert any effects on newborn. However, there are cases of transient hypoglycemia reported in preterm infants. Please consult your doctor for more details.
Terbutaline usually does not affect ability to drive. Do not drive unless you are feeling well.
