Overview of Pituitary Dwarfism
Pituitary dwarfism, also known as growth hormone deficiency or dwarfism is a condition caused by insufficient amounts of growth hormone in the body. It happens when the pituitary gland unable to produce an adequate supply of growth hormone, which is essential for normal childhood growth. It can be present at birth or later in life.
Signs and Symptoms of Pituitary Dwarfism
Height below the third percentile on standard pediatric growth charts, Growth rate slower than expected for age, Delayed or no sexual development during the teen years, May present with other symptoms of pituitary hormone deficiencies: increased urination, excessive thirst, facial abnormalities
