How To Use Betaloc 100mg Tablet 100s

This medicine is for oral use only. Swallow this medication as a whole with water. Do not chew, crush or break it. It is better to take this medication at a fixed time each day if it is indicated for everyday use.

Side Effects

As with all medications, you may experience some side effects. Not everyone experiences it. This is not a cause for concern. However, it is so that you are aware of it.

Most side effects do not need medical attention and vanish as the body responds to the drug. Consult your doctor if they persist or if you are worried about them

The main side effects of this drug are unexpected lowering of blood pressure, slow heart rate, headache, dizziness and nausea. They are generally mild and short-lived. It may also cause shortness of breath or low blood pressure in certain people. Your doctor would usually begin the drug at a low dosage to reduce the risk of side effects and gradually raise it. Consult the doctor if the side effects are concerning you or are not going away.


Low Heart Rate, Low Blood Pressure, Tiredness, Abdominal pain, Dizziness, Headache, Shortness of breath with exertion, Nausea, Vomiting, Diarrhea, Constipation; Coldness in extremities.

Precautionary Steps of Betaloc 100mg Tablet 100s

Please consult a doctor especially before taking Betaloc tab 100 mg. If you have any of the following conditions & contraindications:-

  • Severe low blood pressure 
  • Liver disease 
  • Allergy to Betaloc or any of its components
  • Hypersensitivity
  • Bradycardia
  • Sick sinus syndrome 
  • Pregnancy
  • Breastfeeding

Betaloc tab 100 mg Drug Interactions

Drug to drug interaction reaction of Betaloc tab 100 mg varies from a person to another person. It is advisable to check with your doctor about all the possible drug interactions before starting the medication.

  • Clonidine
  • Disopyramide
  • Hydralazine
  • Digoxin

Alcohol Warning (Not Advisable)

Alcohol may have increased concentration in the blood if taken with Betaloc 100mg Tablet 100s Tartrate. It can also increase the chances of the patient having low blood pressure.

Pregnancy Warning (Not Safe)

Betaloc 100mg Tablet 100s Tartrate has shown (in animal studies) that it may have some risk factors towards the foetus as Betaloc 100mg Tablet 100s crosses placenta barrier. It is better to consult your doctor before taking Betaloc 100mg Tablet 100s Tartrate.

Breastfeeding Warning (Not Advisable)

Betaloc 100mg Tablet 100s is found in higher concentration in breast milk, more than mother's plasma. There have been reported cases of hypoglycemia and bradycardia in babies being breastfed by mothers on Betaloc 100mg Tablet 100s. Therefore, please consult your doctor if you are on Betaloc 100mg Tablet 100s and is breastfeeding.

Driving Warning (Not Advisable)

Do not drive unless you are feeling well. Betaloc 100mg Tablet 100s tartrate may cause side effects such as dizziness or tiredness, all of which could affect the ability to concentrate and drive.

Kidney Warning (Safe If Prescribed)

No dose adjustment needed in patients with renal impairment.

Liver Warning (Use With Care)

Betaloc 100mg Tablet 100s is metabolized by the liver and should be used with caution in patients with liver disease as dose adjustments may be needed. Please consult your doctor.

Quick Tips

  • Betaloc 100mg Tablet should be taken according to the recommended dosage and duration.
  • Use of Betaloc 100mg Tablet may cause a rapid decrease in your condition. Rise carefully, If you've been sitting or laying down, to avoid dizziness or fainting
  • May cause dizziness. Use Betaloc 100mg Tablet with caution when driving or doing activities that require attention until you know it affects you.
  • Regular monitoring of blood pressure and blood sugar level is advised while on Betaloc 100mg Tablet.
  • Notify your doctor if you observe increasing swelling around your legs or ankles, abrupt weight gain, or sudden shortness of breath. These could be signs of heart failure.
  • Do not abruptly stop taking Betaloc 100mg Tablet without first consulting your doctor.
