Introduction of Renitec 10mg Tablet 30s

Renitec 10mg Tablet belongs to a group of medication known as inhibitors of the angiotensin conversion enzyme. Renitec10 mg Tablet may be prescribed alone or with other medicines.

It should be taken before meal.  This medication should be taken every day to get the maximum effect at the same time. It is important to take it consistently, even if you feel good or your blood pressure is regulated. Many people with elevated blood pressure has symptoms so you could worsen the condition if you discontinue this drug. This medicine is commonly used and is considered effective for long-term use.

Changing your diet can also help moderate your blood pressure. This may include physical exercise, weight loss, cessation of smoking, decreased consumption of alcohol and reduced salt in your diet, as your doctor may advise. 

Let your doctor know before taking this drug if you have any kidney or liver issues. Mothers who are pregnant or breastfeeding should also contact a doctor before consuming. Your doctor will monitor your blood pressure, kidney function and potassium in your blood regularly when you are taking this medicine.

How To Use Renitec 10mg Tablet 30s

This medicine is for oral use only. Swallow this medication as a whole with water. Do not chew, crush or break it. It is better to take this medication at a fixed time each day if it is indicated for everyday use.

Side Effects

As with all medications, you may experience some side effects. Not everyone experiences it. This is not a cause for concern. However, it is so that you are aware of it.

Headache, Hypotension, Dizziness, Peripheral neuropathy, Insomnia, Vertigo, Persistent dry cough, Nausea, Vomiting, Diarrhea, Rash, Muscle cramps

Warning Precautions

Alcohol Warning (Not Advisable)

It is not advisable to consume Renitec 10mg Tablet 30s with alcohol because they can have an additive hypotensive effect.

Pregnancy Warning (Not Safe)

There is evidence of human studies in which Renitec 10mg Tablet 30s possesses risks to the fetus even though potential benefits may warrant the usage during pregnancy. Any ACE inhibitor should not be started during pregnancy and unless continuous therapy with ACE inhibitor is indicated, it is inevitable that antihypertensive need to be changed to other alternatives with known safety profile in pregnancy. Specifically, during the second and third trimester of pregnancy, Renitec 10mg Tablet 30s can cause human fetotoxicity and neonatal toxicity, thus it should be avoided at all cost.

Breastfeeding Warning (Limited Data)

There is limited data on the safety profile of Renitec 10mg Tablet 30s in breastfeeding. However, few studies have shown that Renitec 10mg Tablet 30s is excreted in very low concentrations in breast milk. Although this could be deemed as insignificant, the usage of Renitec 10mg Tablet 30s during breastfeeding is not advisable for preterm infants and early delivery period because of the potential risk of cardiovascular and renal effects.

Driving Warning (Generally Safe)

Renitec 10mg Tablet 30s usually does not affect the ability to drive. Do not drive unless you are feeling well.

Kidney Warning (Use With Care)

In patients with renal impairment, the dosage of Renitec 10mg Tablet 30s needs to be adjusted depending on the renal function, particularly the patient's creatinine clearance. It is also important to do routine monitoring of the renal function during the treatment for such patients. There are also cases of renal failure reported in regards to Renitec 10mg Tablet 30s and most occur in patients with severe heart failure or underlying renal disease. When treated early, renal failure caused by Renitec 10mg Tablet 30s is reversible.

Liver Warning (Limited Data)

ACE inhibitor could be associated with cholestatic jaundice or hepatitis which then progresses to fulminant hepatic necrosis or death. If the patient develops jaundice or a significant increase of liver enzymes following usage of Renitec 10mg Tablet 30s, it is best to discontinue Renitec 10mg Tablet 30s and advice the patient to seek appropriate medical attention.

Quick Tips

  • Renitec 10mg Tablet can be taken with or without food, preferably taken at the same time each day.
  • May cause dizziness. Use Renitec 10mg Tablet with caution when driving or doing activities that require attention.
  • While taking Renitec 10mg Tablet, rise carefully if you have been sitting or laying down to reduce the risk of feeling dizzy or passing out.
  • You may also choose to take Renitec 10mg Tablet before bedtime to prevent dizziness during the day.
  • Inform your doctor if you have any cough symptom that doesn't go away. 
  • Potassium levels may rise. Do not eat foods or supplemets high in potassium, like bananas and broccoli.
  • Discuss with your doctor if you are pregnant, planning a pregnancy or breastfeeding.
