Introduction of Xeljanz 5mg Tablet 56s

Your doctor can prescribe Xeljanz 5mg tablets with or without food. It is better to take it at the same time daily. Your dose depends on your condition severity. Do not stop taking it unless advised by the doctor, or if your condition exacerbate. 

You can not take medication if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, unless your doctor suggests the advantage is greater than the risk. Speak to a doctor before taking this medicationif you have or have ever had diarrhea, shingles, kidney or liver disease, hepatitis B or C, or blood clots in your legs or lungs. Xeljanz 5mg Tablet can make you more likely to get infections or can exacerbate any existing illnesses so avoid contact with people who have any illness you might get (such as chickenpox, measles, flu).

How To Use Xeljanz 5mg Tablet 56s

This medicine is for oral use only. Swallow this medication as a whole with water. Do not chew, crush or break it. It is better to take this medication at a fixed time each day if it is indicated for everyday use.

Side Effects

As with all medications, you may experience some side effects. Not everyone experiences it. This is not a cause for concern. However, it is so that you are aware of it.

Many side effects require minimal medical assistance and fades as the body responds to the medicine. Speak to the doctor if they continue or if you are particularly worried.

The more frequent side effects of Xeljanz 5mg Medication are upper respiratory tract infections, headache, diarrhea, and nasopharyngitis. Less common side effects include blood clots and bleeding in the stomach or bowel wall. They require immediate medical treatment.

Warning Precautions

Alcohol Warning (Safe)

There is no known interaction between alcohol and Xeljanz 5mg Tablet 56s when used concomitantly.

Pregnancy Warning (Not Safe)

Animal studies have shown reproductive toxicities but there are limited data and well-controlled human studies on pregnant women. Thus, Xeljanz 5mg Tablet 56s is not advisable to be used during pregnancy. Please consult your doctor.

Breastfeeding Warning (Not Advisable)

Animal studies have shown the excretion of Xeljanz 5mg Tablet 56s in animal milk but it is unknown in human milk. Thus, Xeljanz 5mg Tablet 56s is not advisable to be used during breastfeeding. Please consult your doctor.

Driving Warning (Generally Safe)

Xeljanz 5mg Tablet 56s usually does not affect the ability to drive. Do not drive unless you are feeling well.

Kidney Warning (Use With Care)

Dose adjustment is needed in patients with severe kidney impairment.

Liver Warning (Use With Care)

Dose adjustment is needed in patients with moderate kidney impairment. It is not advisable to be used in patients with severe liver impairment.

  • Continue taking the medication as prescribed. 
  • Your doctor will want to get checks performed on your liver, thyroid, blood cells, or cholesterol levels. 
  • Xeljanz 5mg Tablet can slow down the symptoms of infection. 
  • Refer to doctor if experience the signs of an infection such as fever, chills, cough, and body aches. 
  • Your doctor should get a TB skin test and chest X-ray before prescribing this medication. 
  • Inform the doctor whether you are pregnant, planning to conceive, or breastfeeding.
