Docusate is commonly used in the treatment of constipation
Docusate is a laxative. It plays the role of fecal softener by allowing more fluid to enter the feces.
Diarrhea, Nausea, Abdominal cramps, Skin rash, Anorectal pain or bleeding
It is safe to consume alcohol with Docusate. Consuming Docusate with alcohol will not interfere with the way the medication works.
Docusate may be safe to use but caution has to be taken for prolonged use as it can cause fetal toxicity in the first trimester and hypomagnesemia.
Docusate is probably safe to use during lactation. Limited human data showed that Docusate does not cause significant risk to the baby. Please consult your doctor.
