Glimepiride Related Warnings

Alcohol Not Advisable

Alcohol may accentuate hypoglycaemic effect caused by Glimepiride. Thus, it is not advisable to consume alcohol during the treatment with Glimepiride.

Pregnancy Not Safe

Animal studies have shown reproductive toxicities and prolonged severe hypoglycaemia has been reported in newborns to mother receiving Glimepiride at time of delivery. Thus, it is contraindicated during pregnancy. Please consult your doctor.

Lactation Not Advisable

There are no data on the effect of Glimepiride upon breastfed babies. Thus, Glimepiride is contraindicated during breastfeeding. Please consult your doctor.

Driving Generally Safe

Glimepiride usually does not affect the ability to drive. Do not drive unless you are feeling well.

Kidney High Risk

Dose adjustment may be needed in patients with moderate kidney impairment. It is contraindicated in patients with severe kidney impairment. Please consult your doctor.

Liver Use With Care

Dose adjustment may be needed in patients with moderate liver impairment. It is contraindicated in patients with severe liver impairment. Please consult your doctor.
