Imatinib Related Warnings

Alcohol Safe

There is no clear contraindication on the consumption of alcohol when taking Imatinib.

Pregnancy Not Safe

Animal and human data suggest reproductive toxicity and fetal harm and thus is not recommended to be used during pregnancy.

Lactation Not Advisable

Imatinib may be excreted into human breastmilk and due to its potential adverse effects on the nursing infant, it should not be used during breastfeeding.

Driving Not advisable

It is not advisable to drive when under Imatinib treatment due to its potential side effects such as headache and dizziness which can affect the ability to concentrate and drive.

Kidney Use With Care

Patients with renal impairment may need dosage adjustment accordingly and close monitoring.

Liver Use With Care

Dosage adjustment is needed in patients with hepatic impairment as well as with close monitoring.
