Oxymetazoline is commonly used to treat conjunctivitis, eye irritation, nasal congestion or blocked nose, pupil dilation and uveitis.
Oxymetazoline works by stimulating alpha�-adrenergic receptors which then produces local vasoconstriction on the blood vessels at nasal mucosa and conjunctiva. As a result, there is a decrease in blood flow causing reduced nasal & conjunctival congestion.

It is safe to consume alcohol with oxymetazoline as it only has topical formulations.
Animal studies have reported that there is a risk to the fetus and there are insufficient studies in humans, however, the potential benefits of oxymetazoline may allow the usage in pregnancy.
The safety profile of oxymetazoline during breastfeeding has not been established therefore, please consult your doctor prior.
