How Pantoprazole Works

Pantoprazole is a proton pump inhibitor. It is an Antacids Pantoprazole works by inhibiting the process of gastric acid secretion of a certain enzyme which is present on the surface of gastric parietal cells.

Alcohol Safe

It is safe to consume alcohol with Pantoprazole. Consuming Pantoprazolewith alcohol will not interfere with the way the medication works.

Pregnancy Not Safe

Animal studies have shown adverse effects on the fetus, however, there are limited human studies. The benefits from use in pregnant women may be acceptable despite the risk. Please consult your doctor.

Lactation Not Advisable

Pantoprazole excretion in the breast milk is unknown. Hence, it is not recommended for the patient to be on Pantoprazole while breastfeeding.

Driving Generally Safe

Pantoprazole usually does not affect the ability to drive. Do not drive unless you are feeling well.

Kidney Safe If Prescribed

Pantoprazole can be used in patients with kidney impairment.

Liver Use With Care
