How Tetanus Toxoid Works

Tetanus toxoid is a vaccine prepared from inactivated toxin produced by virulent tetanus bacilli (product of Clostridium tetani). It acts as antigen and produces active immunity against tetanus in the future.

Nausea, Fever, Malaise, Irritability, Bruising, Swelling, Painful Joints, Syncope, Rashed, Dizziness

Alcohol Safe

Consumption of alcohol is found to be safe at least an hour after vaccination. However, consult your doctor for further clarification

Pregnancy Safe If Prescribed

No animal studies have been conducted with Tetanus Toxoid. Also, the risk to the fetus from the use of Tetanus Toxoid is unknown. However, it is recommended that protection against neonatal tetanus be given with appropriate tetanus toxoid-containing preparation.

Lactation Safe If Prescribed

Study shows that Tetanus Toxoid does not affect breastfeeding mothers and their infants. The immune response is not affected and breastfeeding is not a contraindication for vaccination.

Driving Generally Safe

Tetanus Toxoid usually does not affect the ability to drive. Do not drive unless you are feeling well.

Kidney Safe If Prescribed

Tetanus infections can be prevented by using vaccines in End-Staged Renal Patient patients. However, monitoring of antibody levels should be done due to impaired seroconversion rates.

Liver Safe If Prescribed
