Selenium sulphide is commonly used to treat dandruff and seborrheic dermatitis.

How Selenium Sulphide Works

Selenium Sulphide has an antimitotic action which leads to a reduction in the turnover of epidermal cells which is effective in helping patients with dandruff and seborrheic dermatitis.

Alcohol Safe

There is no known interaction between alcohol and Selenium Sulphide shampoo when used concomitantly.

Pregnancy Not Safe

There are limited data on the use of Selenium Sulphide during pregnancy from animal studies and human studies. Thus, it is not advisable to be used during pregnancy.

Lactation Limited Data

There are limited data on the use of Selenium Sulphide during breastfeeding from animal studies and human studies. Thus, it is not advisable to be used during breastfeeding.

Driving Generally Safe

There are no studies about the effect of Selenium Sulphide on the ability to drive. Do not drive unless you are feeling well.

Kidney Safe If Prescribed

Selenium Sulphide is safe to be used in patients with kidney impairment.

Liver Limited Data

Selenium Sulphide is safe to be used in patients with liver impairment.
