Mouth Ulcers

Overview

Mouth ulcers are abrasion of the epithelium of the mucous membrane of the oral cavity. It can be very painful. They are usually red or yellow in appearance. It rarely signifies anything serious in the body but the discomfort can be intolerable. The type of ulcer that one has explains the kind of symptoms which one will go through.

Signs and Symptoms

Very painful, Increasing in size, Can appear anywhere in the mouth, Some might have swollen glands, Fever, Sluggishness

Common Causes

Infections: bacteria, viral, fungal, Immune disorder: Bechet syndrome, Trauma: cheek bite, hot food or fluid

Risk Factors
