What is a deductible?

A deductible is the amount you must pay upfront before your plan covers the rest. It's a way to lower your monthly payments.

You can choose a plan without a deductible. With this option, you won't have to pay anything upfront because your plan will cover the entire cost.

However, the deductible doesn't apply to certain situations:

  • Major accidents which cause the person covered to be admitted to the ICU for a period longer than 7 days and require a medically necessary surgery
  • Visits to the hospital emergency department and the person covered is classified within red zone (critical zone);
  • Treatment sought at Malaysian government hospitals, or;
  • Major claims which refer to claims that result from illnesses as specified below:
    1. Heart attack
    2. Cancer
    3. Coronary artery by-pass surgery
    4. Kidney failure
    5. Stroke
