Overview
Microcytic anemia is a condition that happens when the size of the red blood cells appears to be smaller than normal. This condition can be detected from a blood smear where a layer of blood is smeared onto a glass slide then observed under a microscope. Microcytic anemia can be a problem as a smaller red blood cells means less oxygen. This in turn can cause extreme fatigue, dizziness, pale and shortness of breath which if left untreated can hinder daily activities.Signs and Symptoms
