Azithromycin is a commonly used drug in the treatment of bacterial eye infections, bacterial infections, bacterial skin infections and conjunctivitis
Azithromycin is is a type of antibiotic. It belongs to the class of macrolides. Azithromycin works by binding to the ribosomal subunit and inhibits RNA-dependent protein synthesis, thus prevents the growth and proliferation of bacterial cells.

It is not recommended to consume alcohol with Azithromycin. Taking Azithromycin with alcohol may cause enhanced side effects such as headache, dizziness, fatigue and blurring of vision.
Azithromycin may be safe to use during pregnancy. Animal reproduction studies have not demonstrated a risk to the fetus. However, there are no adequate and well-controlled studies in pregnant women.
Azithromycin is not advised to use during lactation. Azithromycin is excreted and present in the breast milk.
Azithromycin usually does not affect the ability to drive. Do not drive unless you are feeling well.
Azithromycin should be used with special precautions in patients with severe renal impairment. Dose adjustment of Azithromycin may be needed. Please consult your doctor.
