Cetalkonium Chloride is an antibiotic that is able to disrupt the bacterial cell membrane, inactivating bacterial enzymes and proteins, leading to bacterial cell death.

Alcohol Safe

It is safe to consume alcohol with Cetalkonium Chloride. However, if you experience any adverse reactions, please consult your doctor immediately.

Pregnancy Limited Data

Cetalkonium chloride is not classified in FDA Pregnancy Category. But dose is restricted up to 100 mg/day for pregnant women if usage is necessary. Close monitoring is required.

Lactation Limited Data

Cetalkonium Chloride is excreted into breast milk in small quantities but no adverse effects for the infant have been reported. Hence, short term usage during breastfeeding is allowed.

Driving Generally Safe

Celtakonium chloride usually does not affect the ability to drive. Do not drive unless you are feeling well.

Kidney Safe If Prescribed

Cetalkonium Chloride is safe to be used in patients with severe kidney disease. It is mainly used as a topical drug and it is not absorbed.
