Chlorambucil is commonly used to treat hodgkin's disease, non-hodgkin's lymphoma, chronic lymphocytic leukaemia, waldenstrom macroglobulinaemia
Chlorambucil works by interfering with DNA replication and RNA transcription by alkylation and cross-linking of the cellular DNA strands. This causes the disruption of nucleic acid function.

There is no contraindication on the consumption of alcohol with Chlorambucil suggested by any previous clinical data.
Chlorambucil is contraindicated in pregnancy due to its potential reproductive side effects and in women of child-bearing age, effective contraception is advisable.
It is not known whether Chlorambucil will be excreted into human breastmilk or not and it is advisable not to breastfeed the infant during treatment period due to its potential adverse effects.
It is not known whether Chlorambucil will affect the ability to drive or not. It is advisable not to drive if the patient experience side effects which can cause impairment in the ability to drive.
Dosage adjustment is not needed when Chlorambucil is used in patients with renal impairment. However, close monitoring is advisable.
Dosage adjustment and close monitoring are advisable for people with hepatic impairment.
