ciprofloxacin is commonly used in the treatment of bacterial eye infections, bacterial infections of external ear, bacterial infections of urinary tract, sinusitis, gonorrhoea and intra-abdominal infections.
Ciprofloxacin an anti-infective agent. It works by inhibiting enzymes such as DNA gyrase and topoisomerase IV, which are essential in the bacterial replication, transcription, repair and recombination.

Ciprofloxacin may lead to neurological side effects such as slow reaction time which could affect the ability to drive.
Ciprofloxacin should be used with caution in patients with severe kidney disease. Dose adjustment of Ciprofloxacin may be needed.
Dose titration of Ciprofloxacin is not necessary in patients with liver disease.
