Yes, you can. However, some vaccines (particularly live vaccines) should not be given concurrently with Dexamethasone Oral. If you need to get any vaccinations, tell your doctor or pharmacist that you are on Dexamethasone Oral.

Dexamethasone Oral may occasionaly be prescribed for children above the age of 1 month in small doses for very short periods of time (not normally exceeding 7 days) to treat acute conditions. If your child's condition does not improve within the specified duration, please consult your doctor. It should always be used only as directed by your doctor.

An increase in your blood sugar levels may be seen while you are on Dexamethasone Oral but should return to normal after you finish your course of Dexamethasone Oral. However, this can sometimes lead to type 2 diabetes particularly if you have pre-existing risk factors in which you should consult your doctor.

It is advised that you do not stop taking Dexamethasone Oral or lower your dosage suddenly if you have been taking Dexamethasone Oral for more than 3 weeks or are on a high dose for 1 week. Stopping Dexamethasone Oral abruptly may cause a fall in your blood pressure and even death. Consult your doctor if you plan on stopping Dexamethasone Oral.

Unless you have had chickenpox in the past, you are considered at a high risk of developing chickenpox while you are on Dexamethasone Oral especially if you are taking Dexamethasone Oral orally or by injections. Try to avoid people who have chickenpox or shingles. Consult your doctor if you have not had chickenpox in the past and as you may require vaccination.

It is important that you let your doctor know that you are taking Dexamethasone Oral if you are going for a surgery. This is because some anaesthetics used during a surgery may cause a dangerous fall in your blood pressure.

Dexamethasone Oral does not commonly cause weight gain and may even result in weight loss as <alt> increases the amount of sugar being removed from your body when you urinate.

Your doctor may advise you to stop taking Dexamethasone Oral before your surgery. This is because there is a risk of you developing diabetic ketoacidosis (a condition that may occur if high blood sugar is not treated). Be sure to inform your doctor that you are taking Dexamethasone Oral.
