Diacerein is commonly used in the treatment of osteoarthritis, osteoarthritis of knee and hip joints
Diacerein is a drug which acts on the musculoskeletal system. Diacerein works by inhibiting the interleukin-1alpha� which is also a derivative of anthraquinone.

There could be a possible interaction between Diacerein and alcohol. Otherwise, it is fairly safe to consume alcohol while on Diacerein.
Diacerein is unsafe to use during pregnancy. Both animal and human studies have shown adverse effects on the fetus. This medicine is strictly prohibited in pregnancy. Use of Diacerein should be started only after pregnancy has been excluded.
Diacerein is contraindicated during lactation. Animal studies have shown excretion of Diacerein in milk.
Diacerein usually does not affect the ability to drive. Do not drive unless you are feeling well.
Diacerein should be used with caution in patients with kidney disease. Dose adjustment of Diacerein may be needed. Please consult your doctor.
Diacerein should be used with care in patients with liver disease. Liver function test monitoring is advisable after 6 months.
