Fimasartan is commonly used to treat primary hypertension.

How Fimasartan Works

Fimasartan is an Angiotensin II Antagonists. Blocking the AT1 receptor located on the kidney and adrenal gland, inhibits vasoconstriction and prevents aldosterone formation.

Fimasartan Related Warnings

Alcohol Not Advisable

Due to lack of data regarding Fimasartan interactions with alcohol, it is unknown whether pharmacokinetics of Fimasartan will be affected when taken simultaneously with alcohol. Please consult your doctor before using it.

Pregnancy Limited Data

Fimasartan may be unsafe to use during pregnancy. There have been human studies showing adverse effects of hypotension, neonatal skull hypoplasia, anuria, reversible or irreversible renal failure, oligohydramnios and death. Please consult your doctor before using it.

Lactation Limited Data

Fimasartan is excreted into mammal breastmilk but its excretion into human breast milk and the effect on feeding baby is unknown. Please consult your doctor before using it.

Driving Generally Safe

Fimasartan may cause side effects such as dizziness and headaches, all of which could affect your ability to concentrate and drive. Do not drive unless you are feeling well.

Kidney Use With Care

Fimasartan should be used with caution in patients with varying degrees of kidney disease. Close monitoring of renal function and dose adjustment of Fimasartan may be needed. Please consult your doctor before using it.
