Glipizide is commonly used in the treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus.
Glipizide is able to stimulate insulin release from the Beta cells and increase the insulin sensitivity.

Alcohol may accentuate hypoglycaemic effect caused by Glipizide. Thus, it is not advisable to consume alcohol during the treatment with Glipizide.
Animal studies have shown reproductive toxicities and prolonged severe hypoglycaemia has been reported in newborns to mother receiving Glipizide at time of delivery. Thus, it is contraindicated during pregnancy. Please consult your doctor.
There are no data on the effect of Glipizide upon breastfed babies. Thus, Glipizide is contraindicated during breastfeeding. Please consult your doctor.
Glipizide usually does not affect the ability to drive. Do not drive unless you are feeling well.
