Hypromellose is commonly used to treat dry eyes and adjunct to eye surgery.
Hypromellose is used as artificial tears to impede cornea and conjunctiva damage due to impaired lacrimal secretions. It is also used as a visco-elastic agent by supporting the deep chamber, thus pushing the vitreous face back and preventing the existence of postoperative flat chamber.
