Isosorbide Mononitrate Related Warnings

Alcohol Not Advisable

It is considered unsafe to consume alcohol with Isosorbide Mononitrate. Taking Isosorbide Mononitrate with alcohol may have increased side effects such as dizziness, headache and confusion may worsen with alcohol intake.

Pregnancy Maybe Safe

Studies on animals have shown no adverse effects on the fetus. However, there are no adequate studies in pregnant women.

Lactation Limited Data

There are limited data on usage of Isosorbide Mononitrate during lactation. It is not known if the active ingredient is also found in the milk. Therefore, usage in breastfeeding mothers are advised with care.

Driving Not advisable

(Do not drive unless you are feeling well.) Because Isosorbide Mononitrate may cause side effects such as dizziness, headaches, and confusion, it is advisable to not drive when taking this medication.

Kidney Use With Care

Although Isosorbide Mononitrate may be used in patients with renal impairment, please consult your doctor for dosage adjustment.

Liver Limited Data

It is advisable that Isosorbide Mononitrate be used with caution in patients with liver disease. Dose adjustment of Isosorbide Mononitrate may be needed therefore please consult your doctor.
