Lercanidipine belongs to the class of calcium-channel blockers. It inhibits the influx of calcium ions into cardiac and smooth muscles of the heart to allow relaxation of the muscles and reduces peripheral vascular resistance

Alcohol Not Advisable

It is unsafe to consume alcohol with Lercanidipine. Taking Lercanidipine with alcohol may increase the vasodilating effect of Lercanidipine.

Pregnancy Not Safe - High Risk

Lercanidipine is contraindicated during pregnancy. The use of Lercanidipine may have a potential risk on the fetus. Please consult your doctor.

Lactation Not Advisable

Lercanidipine is not safe to use during lactation. Lercanidipine may be excreted in human breast milk and hence may have potential risk to breastfed infants. Please consult your doctor.

Driving Not advisable

Do not drive unless you are feeling well. Lercanidipine may cause side effects such as dizziness, tiredness or sleepiness, all of which could affect the ability to concentrate and drive.

Kidney High Risk

Lercanidipine should be used with caution in patients with mild to moderate kidney disease. Dose adjustment of Lercanidipine may be needed. Lercanidipine is contraindicated in patients with severe renal impairment with a creatine clearance rate of less than 30mL/min. Please consult your doctor.
