Mirabegron is commonly used in the treatment of overactive bladder (oab) symptoms.

How Mirabegron Works

Mirabegron is a type of selective beta receptor agonist. It works by relaxing the main smooth muscle that controls our urination also known as the detrusor smooth muscles to increase capacity of bladder for storage of urination.

Side Effects of Mirabegron

Headache, Dizziness, Urinary Tract Infection, Nausea, Constipation, Diarrhea, Tachycardia, Rashes, Joint Swelling, Increased Blood Pressure, Fatigue

Alcohol Safe

Alcohol or tobacco and food may have certain interactions. Discuss with your doctor before consuming it.

Pregnancy Not Safe

Mirabegron's animal studies have shown some risks to the foetus but there are no well-controlled human studies done so far. Therefore, please consult your doctor before taking mirabegron.

Lactation Not Advisable

Mirabegron is found to be excreted in breast milk during animal studies so it is presumed to be excreted in human breast milk too. There's no studies regarding effects of Mirabegron on breastfed infants yet and are therefore not recommeded to be used during breastfeeding.

Driving Generally Safe

Mirabegon usually does not affect the ability to drive. Do not drive unless you are feeling well.

Kidney Use With Care

Mirabegron is excreted by the kidney and dose adjustments is needed for patients with kidney disease. Please consult with your doctor before using. Nevertheless, patients with end stage renal disease are not recommended to have Mirabegron at all.

Liver Use With Care

Mirabegron requires dose adjustments for patients with liver disease and is completely contraindicated in patients with severe liver impairment. Please consult your doctor before using it.
