Norfloxacin is commonly used in the treatment of bacterial infections of urinary tract and urinary tract infections (utis).
Norfloxacin is a fluoroquinolone class of antibiotics which is able to inhibit the DNA gyrase and Topoisomerase, subsequently preventing the synthesis of bacterial DNA.

There is no known interaction between alcohol and Norfloxacin when used concomitantly. It is advisable to consume alcohol only in moderate amount.
Animal studies have shown reproductive toxicities but there are limited data on the use of Norfloxacin in pregnant woman. Thus, it should only be used when potential benefits are more than potential risks to the fetus during pregnancy. Please consult your doctor.
Excretion of Norfloxacin is unknown in human breast milk and there may be potential side effects on the breastfed infants. Thus, it is not advisable to be used during breastfeeding. Please consult your doctor.
Norfloxacin usually does not affect the ability to drive. Do not drive unless you are feeling well.
Dose adjustment is needed in patients with kidney impairment. Please consult your doctor.
Norfloxacin is safe to be used in patients with liver impairment.
