Phenylephrine is an alpha-adrenergic receptor agonist which works to stimulate the receptor causing vasoconstriction and also releasing the norepinephrine from its storage sites.

There is no contraindication in alcohol consumption while using Phenylephrine.
There is no animal reproductive studies conducted but due to potential adverse effects of Phenylephrine to the term fetus, it is not advisable to take Phenylephrine during pregnancy.
It is not known whether Phenylephrine is excreted into human breastmilk or not. Due to its potential toxicity, Phenylephrine is not advisable to be used during breastfeeding.
It is not advisable to drive when under Phenylephrine eye treatment due to its potential side effects such as eye irritation and blurred vision which can affect the ability to concentrate and drive.
Dosage adjustment may be needed for patient who needs parenteral Phenylephrine and with hypotensive states.
There is no dosage adjustment needed for patients with hepatic impairment according to the manufacturer labelling.
