Pramipexole Related Warnings

Alcohol Not Advisable

It is not recommended to consume alcohol while taking this medication as it may increase its sedative effect.

Pregnancy Not Safe

Pramipexole has shown to have embryotoxic effects in animal studies. The effects on humans during pregnancy have not been investigated. It is not recommended to use this medication in pregnant women unless the benefits clearly outweigh the risks.

Lactation Not Advisable

Pramipexole treatment inhibits prolactin in humans which will inhibit lactation. It is not recommended to be used in breastfeeding women. If unavoidable, it is suggested for breastfeeding to be discontinued.

Driving Not advisable

Pramipexole can cause hallucinations and somnolence which will greatly impact the ability to drive and operating machines. Patients on this medication should be advised to refrain from driving and operating machines as it may put them in the risk of injury.

Kidney Use With Care

Dose adjustment may be needed in patients with kidney impairment as the elimination of this medication is dependent on renal function.

Liver Use With Care

No dose adjustment needed in patients with liver impairment
