The mechanism of Riluzole is unknown to date. It is postulated that its inhibitory effect on the glutamate release is able to slow the disease progression

Decreased white blood cells, Dizziness, Drowsiness, Vertigo, Tachycardia, Perioral numbness, Diarrhea, Abdominal pain, Allergic reaction, Liver dysfunction, Headache, Interstitial lung disease

Riluzole Related Warnings

Alcohol Not Advisable

Alcohol may further damage the liver which is one of the side effects of Riluzole. Thus, it is not advisable to consume alcohol with Riluzole concomitantly.

Pregnancy Limited Data

There are limited data on the use of Riluzole in pregnant women and safety profile has not been established. Thus, it is contraindicated during pregnancy. Please consult your doctor.

Lactation Not Advisable

There are limited data on the use of Riluzole in breastfeeding women and safety profile has not been established. Thus, it is contraindicated during breastfeeding.

Driving Not advisable

Do not drive unless you are feeling well. Riluzole may cause side effects such as drowsiness, dizziness or vertigo, all of which could affect your ability to concentrate and drive.

Kidney High Risk

Riluzole is contraindicated in patients with kidney impairment. Please consult your doctor.

Liver Use With Care

Riluzole is contraindicated in patients with liver impairment. Please consult your doctor.
