Sertindole Related Warnings

Alcohol Not Advisable

There is no known interaction between alcohol and Sertindole when consumed concomitantly. However, it is not advisable to use Sertindole while receiving antipsychotic treatment as alcohol will worsen the progression of schizophrenia.

Pregnancy Not Safe

Animal studies have not shown any reproductive toxicities but there are no data on the use of Sertindole in human studies. Thus, it is not advisable to be used during pregnancy unless clearly indicated. Please consult your doctor.

Lactation Limited Data

The safety profile of Sertindole is not yet been established in breastfeeding women. Thus, it is advisable to use Sertindole cautiously during breastfeeding. Please consult your doctor.

Driving Not advisable

Do not drive unless you are feeling well. Sertindole may cause side effects such as dizziness, headaches, palpitations or seizures, all of which could affect your ability to concentrate and drive.

Kidney Safe If Prescribed

Sertindole is safe to be used in patients with kidney impairment.

Liver Limited Data

Dose adjustment is needed for patients with mild to moderate liver impairment. It is contraindicated in patients with severe liver impairment.
