How Sulodexide Works

Sulodexide is a heparinoid comprising of 80% fast-moving heparin and 20% dermatan sulfate which is able to inhibit thrombin production.

Sulodexide Related Warnings

Alcohol Not Advisable

There is no known interaction between alcohol and Sulodexide when used concomitantly. However, alcohol may accentuate the side effects of Sulodexide such as headache, dizziness or heartburn.

Pregnancy Limited Data

Animal studies do not show reproductive toxicities but there are limited data on the use of Sulodexide in pregnant women. Thus, it is not advisable to be used during pregnancy.

Lactation Limited Data

Excretion of Sulodexide is unknown in human milk so the risk on breastfed babies cannot be excluded. It is not advisable to be used during breastfeeding.

Driving Not advisable

Sulodexide usually does not affect the ability to drive. Do not drive unless you are feeling well.

Kidney Safe If Prescribed

Sulodexide is safe to be used in patients with kidney impairment.

Liver Limited Data

Caution use has to be practised in patients with liver impairment and bleeding tendency.
