How Tadalafil Works

Tadalafil is a phosphodiesterase (PDE) inhibitor specifically PDE-5. Inhibition of this enzyme causes the relaxation of smooth muscles and increase in blood flow of the penile muscle, prostatic tissue and in the pulmonary vascular bed.

Tadalafil Related Warnings

Alcohol Not Advisable

It is not advisable to consume alcohol together with tadalafil as it can cause further reaction such as hypotension, dizziness and palpitations.

Pregnancy Maybe Safe

Animal studies failed to demonstrate a direct or indirect effect on reproductive toxicity and there are inadequate human studies on the usage of tadalafil in pregnancy. It is, however, best avoided to use tadalafil unless the benefit outweigh the risks.

Lactation Not Advisable

Animals studies have shown the excretion of tadalafil in the breast milk. Therefore, it is advisable not to use tadalafil in breastfeeding women or breastfeeding alternatives should be sought if treatment of tadalafil is highly indicated.

Driving Generally Safe

Tadalafil usually does not affect the ability to drive. Do not drive unless you are feeling well.

Kidney Use With Care

Use of tadalafil in renal impairment patients should be monitored closely with dose adjustment is recommended.

Liver Use With Care

It is advisable to adjust the dose of tadalafil in mild to moderate hepatic impairment patients and the use of Tadalafil is not recommended in severe liver disease.
