Tetracaine is commonly used as Local Anesthesia (Numb Tissues In A Specific Area).
Tetracaine is an ester-type anaesthetic which acts by blocking the sodium ion channels, in turn preventing the initiation and conduction of the sensory impulses, thus forming an area of anaesthesia locally.

There is no known interaction between alcohol and topical Tetracaine when used concomitantly.
There are limited data on the safety of Tetracaine use during pregnancy but Tetracaine has been used in wide without apparent toxicities. Thus, caution use of Tetracaine has to be practised during pregnancy. Please consult your doctor.
Excretion of Tetracaine in the human breastmilk is unknown and the safety profile has not been established. Thus, it is not advisable to be used during breastfeeding.
Topical Tetracaine usually does not affect the ability to drive. Do not drive unless you are feeling well.
Topical Tetracaine is safe to be used in patients with kidney impairment.
Topical Tetracaine is safe to be used in patients with liver impairment.
