How Travoprost Works

Travoprost is an agent which binds to prostaglandin F2 alpha receptors, leading to the increase of aqueous humour outflow then reduction of intraocular pressure

Side Effects of Travoprost

Eye redness, Conjunctivitis, Blurred vision, Corneal staining, Eye inflammation, Photophobia, Foreign body sensation in eyes, Eye tearing, Painful eyes

Travoprost Related Warnings

Alcohol Safe

There is no known interaction between alcohol and Travoprost eye drop when used concomitantly.

Pregnancy Not Safe

Human studies have shown reproductive toxicities on the foetus and newborn child. Thus, Travoprost is not advisable to be used during pregnancy unless necessary. Please consult your doctor.

Lactation Not Advisable

Animal studies have shown the secretion of Travoprost in animal milk but it is unknown in human milk. Thus, Travoprost is not advisable to be used during breastfeeding. Please consult your doctor.

Driving Generally Safe

Travoprost usually does not affect the ability to drive. Do not drive unless you are feeling well.

Kidney Safe If Prescribed

Travoprost is safe to use in patients with kidney impairment.

Liver Use With Care

Travoprost is safe to use in patients with liver impairment.
