How Trimetazidine Works

Trimetazidine inhibits B-oxidation of free fatty acid resulting in lowered oxygen demand for the heart. Also, it modulates cardiac metabolism without changing the hemodynamic functions and ensuring transmembrane sodium-potassium ionic pumps are functioning properly by increasing intracellular ATP levels.
