Trospium is commonly used to treat overactive bladder (oab) symptoms

How Trospium Works

Trospium is an antimuscarinic agent which inhibit the muscarinic receptors leading to reduction of smooth muscle tone in the bladder.

Dry mouth, Dry eyes, Blurred vision, Flatulence, Constipation, Abdominal pain, Nausea, Vomiting, Heartburn, Urinary retention, Tachycardia

Trospium Related Warnings

Alcohol Not Advisable

It is not advisable to consume alcohol and Trospium concomitantly as alcohol will accentuate the drowsiness and tachycardia caused by Trospium.

Pregnancy Not Safe

Animal studies have not shown reproductive toxicities and there are no clinical data of Trospium on pregnant women. Thus, caution use has to be practised in pregnant women. Please consult your doctor.

Lactation Limited Data

Animal studies have shown the excretion of Trospium in animal milk but there are no clinical data of Trospium on breastfeeding women. Thus, caution use has to be practised in breastfeeding women. Please consult your doctor.

Driving Generally Safe

Trospium usually does not affect the ability to drive. Do not drive unless you are feeling well.

Kidney Use With Care

Dose adjustment may be needed in patients with severe kidney impairment. Please consult your doctor.

Liver Limited Data

Caution use of Trospium has to be practised in patients with mild to moderate liver impairment. It is not advisable to be used in patients with severe liver impairment. Please consult your doctor.
