How To Use Maxitrol Eye Ointment 3.5g

This medicine is for external use only. Always wash your hands before and after applying the eye ointment. Hold the tube close to the eye without touching the surface to avoid contamination. Pull down the lower eyelid to form a pouch. Gently squeeze the tube to dispense the desired amount of ointment onto a clean finger and place the medicine inside the lower eyelid. Slowly release the lower eyelid and blink a few times to spread the ointment. Wipe off any extra liquid. Ensure to replace and tighten the cap straight after use.

Warning Precautions

Alcohol Warning (Not Advisable)

It is safe to consume alcohol and Dexamethasone Eye as there is no drug interaction between them. It is safe to consume alcohol with Maxitrol Eye Ointment 3.5g. Consuming Maxitrol Eye Ointment 3.5g with alcohol will not interfere with the way the medication works. There is no known interaction of Maxitrol Eye Ointment 3.5g Topical topical with alcohol.It is not advisable to take alcohol with Maxitrol Eye Ointment 3.5g as it may have effects in increasing flushing and dizziness in patients.

Pregnancy Warning (Not Safe)

The safety of Dexamethasone Eye in human pregnancy is not established. Therefore, Dexamethasone Eye should only be used for pregnant women after careful risk/benefit assessment by the doctor.Maxitrol Eye Ointment 3.5g is not recommended during pregnancy. There is positive evidence of human fetal risk based on adverse reaction data from investigational or marketing experience or studies in humans, but potential benefits may warrant the use of Maxitrol Eye Ointment 3.5g in pregnant women despite potential risks. Maxitrol Eye Ointment 3.5g Opthalmic is not recommended during pregnancy. There is positive evidence of human fetal risk based on adverse reaction data from investigational or marketing experience or studies in humans, but potential benefits may warrant the use of Maxitrol Eye Ointment 3.5g Opthalmic in pregnant women despite potential risks. Maxitrol Eye Ointment 3.5g may not be safe to be used in pregnancy as animal studies have shown adverse effects on the animal fetus. However, controlled studies on both animal and human are not yet available.

Breastfeeding Warning (Not Advisable)

It is not known whether Dexamethasone Eye is excreted into the human breastmilk. It is not advisable to apply topical Dexamethasone Eye on the chest to avoid accidental contact with the infant.Maxitrol Eye Ointment 3.5g is probably unsafe to use during lactation. Maxitrol Eye Ointment 3.5g is excreted into human breast milk and may cause harmful effects on the newborns, thus, it should be avoided during lactation. It is not known whether Maxitrol Eye Ointment 3.5g Topical is excreted into the human breastmilk. It is not advisable to apply topical Maxitrol Eye Ointment 3.5g Topical on the chest to avoid accidental contact with the infant.Maxitrol Eye Ointment 3.5g is considered safe to use during lactation. There is no data available in the matter, therefore, medication can be given but with precaution.

Driving Warning (Not Advisable)

Do not drive if you this Dexamethasone Eye affects your vision after application. Maxitrol Eye Ointment 3.5g usually does not affect the ability to drive. Do not drive unless you are feeling well.Maxitrol Eye Ointment 3.5g Opthalmic usually does not affect the ability to drive. Dosage adjustment is not required as at low concentration, it does not produce any systemic effects.Maxitrol Eye Ointment 3.5g needs cautious use in patients with renal impairment as it can cause nephrotoxicity. Dose adjustment of Maxitrol Eye Ointment 3.5g and monitoring of renal function is necessary. Please consult your doctor. Maxitrol Eye Ointment 3.5g Opthalmic needs cautious use in patients with renal impairment as it can cause nephrotoxicity. Dose adjustment of Maxitrol Eye Ointment 3.5g Opthalmic and monitoring of renal function is necessary. Please consult your doctor. Maxitrol Eye Ointment 3.5g should be used with caution in patients with kidney disease. Also, dose adjustment of Maxitrol Eye Ointment 3.5g may be needed. Please consult your doctor.

Liver Warning (Use With Care)

There is no dose adjustment needed in liver disease as it is a topical medication with low systemic effect.Although Maxitrol Eye Ointment 3.5g is used in hepatic encephalopathy, it still needs dose adjustments in patients with liver impairment. Please consult your doctor before use. Maxitrol Eye Ointment 3.5g Topical is not used for internal consumption and the amount absorbed into the circulatory system also is negligible to cause any effect , therefore, safe to be used even in a patient with liver impairment.Although Maxitrol Eye Ointment 3.5g can be used in patients, it is best that caution is practiced.

Quick Tips

  • Maxitrol Eye Ointment was given by your doctor to treat your infection and alleviate symptoms.
  • Maxitrol Eye Ointment should be administered according to the recommended dosage and duration.
  • Complete the whole course of therapy. Do not miss any doses even if you are feeling better to avoid reoccurence.
  • May cause temporary visual blurring upon administration. Do not use before driving or perform any activities that require attention.
  • Hold the dropper close to the eye without touching it.
  • Drop Maxitrol Eye Ointment directly into the lower lid and wipe off extra fluid.
  • Press the inner corner of the eye (near the nose) for approximately 1 minute, immediately after administering Maxitrol Eye Ointment.
  • Make sure the tip does not get in contact with any surface or eyes to prevent contamination. Wait at least 5-10 minutes before administering the next drug into the same eye (if needed) to prevent dilution.
  • Stinging feeling may occur for 1-2 minutes. Contact your doctor if it continues.
  • Avoid using contact lenses until your condition improves.
  • Use Maxitrol Eye Ointment within 4 weeks after opening the bottle.
  • Do not abruptly stop Maxitrol Eye Ointment without first talking to your doctor as it may aggravate your symptoms.
