Sample type:

Saliva

Direction of use:

1. Wash or sanitize your hands before using the test kit.
2. Attach the sample funnel onto the sample tube.
3. Deep cough 3-5 times before gently spitting saliva into the funnel tube.
4. Collect saliva fluid until the first scale line. Repeat the collection steps if the amount is insufficient.
5. Detach the sample funnel from the sample tube and discard appropriately.
6. Add the buffer into the sample tube and fit the tube tip on top.
7. Mix well by gently squeezing the tube 10-15 times.
8. Wait 15 minutes for the result.

Result Interpretation:

Positive Result:

If you see two red lines by C and T regions, it is a positive result. The lines can be distinct or faint. You are tested Covid-19 positive.

• RT-PCR test is still required for a confirmation of a Covid-19 case. You are advised to seek medical attention immediately even though you might have no symptoms
• Do follow the current SOP given

Negative Result:

If you see one red line by C, and no line by T, it is a negative result.

• You probably do not have Covid-19. However, you are advised to continue monitoring for symptoms if you suspect you might be exposed to the virus as there is a chance for a false-negative result
• If you develop symptoms later on, you are advised to do a RT-PCR test as confirmation

Invalid Result

If you do not see any lines, or one line by T, it is an invalid result. The test did not work

• You will need to do another test with a new test kit.

When you should do the COVID-19 Antigen Self-Test?

As the COVID-19 virus is still present in our community, it is very important for us to take precautionary steps to prevent the further spread of the infection. Besides wearing a mask, social distancing and proper hand washing or hand sanitising, you are recommended to do a COVID-19 Antigen self-test frequently to be clear of your infection status. 

You are recommended to do a self COVID-19 test around 4 days after exposure to symptomatic or positive individuals. Make sure to quarantine yourself to make sure you are not spreading the virus further if you are tested positive. You are also encouraged to do the test after coming back from social gatherings or crowded places.

Please remember that the COVID-19 self kit is just a screening test. Therefore, please go to the clinic and get an RT-PCR test if your self-test result is positive. Don’t forget to report your result to the local authorities. Isolate yourself from your family and beloved ones or your housemates and they also may need to be tested if you are confirmed positive.
