Actonel 35mg Tablet is best taken without the use of food. It must be taken daily at similar time according to the plan recommended by your doctor. Taking it every day at the same time, will help you remember. Do not stop taking this medication until the course is completed, even though you feel better. Notify the doctor if you do have kidney or poor calcium levels. Also inform what other medicines you are taking that can have an effect on this medication, including other prescription medication and non prescription medication.Your doctor may suggest to do regular monitoring on kidney function and mineral levels. Smoking cessation could help prevent decrease in bone mineral density. Also, alcohol consumption should be avoided as it might cause bone loss.
Many side effects do not need immediate medical attention and resolve as the body responds to the drug. Consult the doctor if they continue or if you are concerned about them. Headaches, joints (bone, muscle) and joint pain, indigestion, heartburn, and diarrhea are the most common side effects. They are mild and resolve after a short period. Notify the doctor if they do not ease. Actonel 35mg tablet will cause serious kidney issues, particularly if you are dehydrated, consuming any diuretic (water pills) medication, or whether you already have kidney disease.
If you miss a dose of Actonel 35mg Tablet, skip it and continue with your normal schedule. Do not double the dose.
