How To Use Apo-Allopurinol 100mg Tablet 10s (strip)
This medicine is for oral use only. Swallow this medication as a whole with water. Do not chew, crush or break it. It is better to take this medication at a fixed time each day if it is indicated for everyday use.
As with all medications, you may experience some side effects. Not everyone experiences it. This is not a cause for concern. However, it is so that you are aware of it.
It is not advisable to take alcohol with Apo-Allopurinol 100mg Tablet 10s (strip) as it would worsen any dizziness, blurred vision, and drowsiness.
Pregnancy Warning (Not Safe)
Apo-Allopurinol 100mg Tablet 10s (strip) may be unsafe to use during pregnancy. Animal studies have shown adverse effects on the fetus, however, there are limited human studies. The benefits from use in pregnant women may be acceptable despite the risk. Please consult your doctor.
Breastfeeding Warning (Limited Data)
Apo-Allopurinol 100mg Tablet 10s (strip) is excreted in the breast milk, along with its active metabolite oxipurinol. However, no data shows any effect of Apo-Allopurinol 100mg Tablet 10s (strip) and oxipurinol in the breast milk on the baby. Ultimately, it is not recommended as of now.
Driving Warning (Not Advisable)
Do not drive unless you are feeling well. Apo-Allopurinol 100mg Tablet 10s (strip) may cause side effects such as sleepiness, vertigo or loss of balance, all of which could affect the ability to concentrate and drive.
Kidney Warning (Use With Care)
Apo-Allopurinol 100mg Tablet 10s (strip) should be used with caution in patients with severe kidney disease, especially if used with diuretics. Dose adjustment of Apo-Allopurinol 100mg Tablet 10s (strip) may be needed. Please consult your doctor.
Liver Warning (Use With Care)
Patients with liver disease should use Apo-Allopurinol 100mg Tablet 10s (strip) with caution. Dose adjustment of Apo-Allopurinol 100mg Tablet 10s (strip) may be needed. Please consult your doctor.
Quick Tips
Take Apo-Allopurinol 100mg Tablet with food to avoid stomach discomfort.
Stay hydrated (2-3 litres) while on Apo-Allopurinol 100mg Tablet.
