Evening primrose oil (EPO), like contained in Seven Seas Evening Primrose Oil + Starflower Oil 1000mg Capsule is derived from the seeds of a North American native plant. Its therapeutic properties may be owing to its GLA content. GLA is a plant-based omega-6 fatty acid. EPO is usually given orally or topically.

Gamma Linolenic Acid (GLA) in EPO may improve acne by lowering skin irritation and the quantity of It may also aid with skin hydration. A 2014 study found EPO may help alleviate cheilitis. The acne medicine isotretinoin causes inflammation and soreness in the lips.
