How Carbenoxolone Works

Carbenoxolone is a synthetic derivative of glycyrrhizinic acid. It works by protecting the mucosal barrier from acid-pepsin attachment and enhancing mucin production thereby protecting the stomach lining.

It is not advisable to consume alcohol with Carbenoxolone as there is no information about the interaction between them.

Pregnancy Not Safe - High Risk

Carbenoxolone is not safe to use during pregnancy. Animal studies and human studies have shown adverse effects on the fetus.

Lactation Limited Data

There is no information about the presence of Carbenoxolone in human milk. Hence, it is not recommended to take Carbenoxolone whilst breastfeeding.

Driving Limited Data

There is no data regarding the influence caused by Carbenoxolone on driving. Thus, it is not recommended to drive whilst on Carbenoxolone.
